Pastor Michael MorrisBorn and raised in Ashtabula County, Pastor Mike feels blessed to be a part of First Grace Gospel Church since he was little. He trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a small child, then developed a love for Bible study as a teen, sometimes spending long hours to figure out if what he believed was really true. That time spent in the Word of God brought a change in Mike, and he knew at age 19 that he wanted to be a minister in some capacity. While attending Kent State University to become a high school teacher, he made it all the way into his senior year and into the student teaching program before he hit a crossroads moment and realized he wanted to go a different direction in life. Still obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies, Mike immediately changed track and pursued ministry studies through the Berean Bible Institute (Wisconsin), graduating with an Associate of Biblical Foundations in 2015.

In the meantime, Pastor David Adams encouraged Mike to preach his first sermon at age 21, and he had several other preaching opportunities at other churches, such as the Presbyterian Churches of Rome and Orwell. Mike became an ordained minister in the state of Ohio in 2017. When Pastor Adams retired at the end of 2019, Mike took over as head pastor—shortly before the COVID pandemic. The subsequent years have proven challenging yet rewarding, and Mike loves to serve the Lord and see people grow in their relationship with him. Mike married Crystal in 2014. The happy couple have three children they love chasing around. |
